Peter Henry Jones (June 19, 1935 – December 29, 2007) was an English cricketer who played first-class cricket for Kent between 1953 and 1967, and then one-day cricket for Suffolk between 1978 and 1981.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Player Profile: Peter Henry Jones )〕 A middle-order left-hand batsman, and left-arm slow arm bowler, his debut at 18 years was the first of 141 matches, where he scored 4,196 runs and took 231 wickets. Following career best bat and ball figures in 1961, his form fell away, and he played his last match for Kent in 1967. He then played for Suffolk in Minor Counties cricket, making 3,853 runs and taking 297 wickets in career that lasted into the 1980s, and which included one-day appearances in the Gillette Cup.〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Player Profile: Peter Henry Jones )〕 He also played football for Hastings United. He suffered from cancer in later life, dying in 2007.〔 Suffolk team mate Bobby Cunnell wrote for the ''East Anglican Daily Times'' that Jones was "could bowl well in all sorts of conditions... He was a master of containment and I would call on him to break up a partnership if a match was running away from us. Much of our success was brought about by having three good spinners in the team and Peter's role was very important." ==Notes==
